Epoxy Primer is your best bet on bare metal, whether its your frame, or your sheetmetal.  All bodywork should be done on top of the epoxy primer.

You can pick up a cheap gravity feed gun at Harbor Freight for about 15 bucks that will work great for spraying your frame and suspension.

Best of luck!

Subject: [Chevelle-list] Best primer - frame/ suspension parts

With the rotisserie almost done, I'm within a week or two of taking my body
off the frame.
I plan on sanding/ sandblasting it down as well as removing, sanding/
sandblasting all the suspension stuff as well.
My question is, what sort of primer should I use on these parts?  Because of
where I am doing this (outside, not in an enclosed area), I'd prefer to use
a rattle can, but if that's not going to yield good results, I'll do what I
have to do (and I have a compressor and an HVLP gun).

Anyone have any advice on this?
