I know this is off topic, but I'm buying a 1946 Chevy Truck. It has a few paint spot problems I want to correct, but I don't want to repaint the whole truck. Even if I had to paint the whole truck I would want it painted the same colors.
The problem is, the original owner that had the truck painted, got a divorce and moved away, and to date I have not been able to find him! His name is a popular one and I found about 100 Jim Baird's with no assurance any are him. What can you do to find out what colors you have on a vehicle? I know the truck was painted in Austin, TX., which should narrow it down to several million choices. I need some spiritual help! Surely there is a way to run a spectral analysis of a paint color. I was told the colors are Chevy colors that are about 17 years old! I have my doubts. The truck was in a magazine called "Pickups and Panel Trucks" I was told. No one has heard of the magazine including the editor of Primedia Publications HELP! What do you use to convert a Jpeg Pic to HTML? Dan Mascheck
