If you can decipher and ignore the scammers, I have had great luck using Craigslist. I have traded and came out ahead in most cases but never tried anything of real value. In Chicago it is pretty popular but the scammers still try. I just hit the delete key. You are annonymous until you answer the e-mail. If the person expresses interest I go back and forth via e-mail to see if the guy is legit. I never give my home phone or address out unless I feel real comfortable with the potential deal, whatever it is. It is free to use but don't use your main e-mail address, create a separate one so the potential spam is eliminated. If you're not near a major city than CL is not well known. Although I still look on E-bay I haven't tried selling anything since finding Craigslist. My $.02
