There is two different rod lengths that go between the booster and
master.?sounds like yah have the longer one in there. The master should slide
onto that booster with ease...not forcing it on there.

Subject: [Chevelle-list] master brake cylinder

Hi guys well the list is pretty slow but I am in the process of replacing the
master cylinder on my 70 and have a question for ya. I had a round style that
was on the car with the bleeder screws in it. It was pretty much a waste so I
got the square style with out bleeder screws that I believe to be the original
style that came on the car. After a bench bleed I installed it on the booster
and I had to really force it on. My question is is this normal or is the rod in
the booster a different length for the round and square styles of
cylinders? After I mounted the cylinder it seemed the brake pedal only had a
very little travel and the cylinder felt as if it was bottoming out. Can ya all
help as you all seem to always come thru?? Thanks so much? Steve
