Hi guys,

I have been following the posts about the litter box, wee pads, etc.  Although I would love it if Trinity (2yr. old, 5 lb, chi, female ball of love) would use a litter box.

Unfortunately with a cat in the house, she preferred “Dining at the kitty buffet” as my husband called it.  We had to finally put a baby gate to keep Trinity away from that.  Fortunately, we have now been able to take the gate down and she has lost her fixation for the litter box.

I am home with Trin most of the time and she knows “Potty outside”, goes right out, runs around and does her business, comes in and gets a treat.  But, there are many more times than I wish to count that I didn’t anticipate her needs (or did and she didn’t like the rain) and she was also lacking in communicating those needs to me.  So we decided on puppy or wee wee pads.

I still am forever grateful to the person that posted on this site to take a new wee pad, put it upside down and wet it with an accident and leave the pad where the dog is most likely to go.  This was the answer to getting Trinity to go on the pads.  (Side note to cat owners, our cat tried to do that scratch and cover thing after Trin used the pad, luckily she stopped that)  Cats are sooooo tidy!

Anyway, after this lengthy post,  I found that the price of wee wee pads varies greatly.  Do not buy them at a Petco, or PetSmart. I love these stores but for some stuff they really overcharge.  I got a package of 32 pads (22” X 24”) for $6.89 at a local discount store.  I am on the Mass/RI border and I am sure the store is local to these states – Ocean State Job Lots.  But, I think if you look at some of you local “discount” type stores you can find them.  I actually went and got the bag of pads to see if I could get them directly online for a lower price, but their web site doesn’t see to have that.  I am not endorsing this product, just passing along that these pad were the cheapest and very good.  They claim to be scientifically treated to attract puppies (not sure about that) but they work great for us.  I am only listing their site because they also have some training advice.  www.outinternational.com

Happy Halloween  and remember NO chocolate for the babies!

I'm not Betty, but you can get them virtually anywhere.  Walmart
carries them, pet stores carry them...you can get them online, etc.
Personally, I buy them from the medical supply store.
