I know that awful feeling. The car that hit Nacho was going about a 100MPH I know, they never slowed one bit,and never even stopped to see what they had hit. If they had not been speeding so fast they might have avoided that.If only I had not forgotten to close the door tightly. It still hurts me so bad. I can't seem to stop thinking of him and that horrible THUD sound. I don't mean to keep on and on,but just need to tell someone how sad I feel. I know I might find another, but no other will ever take the place of my sweet little Boy!

My thoughts exactly when I stop to think of Chip. Now don't get me wrong, I understand accidents, I know sometimes when a dog darts in front of you it can be impossible to avoid hitting it. I also understand that you can not risk the safety of your family in a car in order to swerve to avoid an animal if to do so would cause you to wreck. (I am so thankful that so far, I have never been the one who has had to make the quick decision!) However, people who drive recklessly, make no attempt to "miss" an animal, talk on the cell, ect., they irritate me. The people who just don't care...they make me mad!!
 
MY mom hit a neighbors cat once. I can still see it's little body flying through the air. It was an accident she couldn't avoid....the cat ran out in front of her after a ground squirrel. However, we stopped the car!! We got the cat and took it to the vet!!! I paid the bill!!! Unfortunately, the cat did not make it, but we tried. We cared!
 
Had the person who hit Chip stopped, he maybe would have lived. He was still bleeding when I found him, so he hadn't been dead more than a few minutes!! He lived a while....if they had only stopped!

Hello everyone. I just wanted to comment on th "Dear Mom and Dad" post going around. This is the cruel reality, but people are a lot more cruel than this. I belong to another group and the owner of the other list wrote this earlier. This is truly horrifing.
I need to vent.   I hope you'll grant me this one time.  Yesterday, I went to New Braunfels to Radio Shack to pick up a couple of connectors for my ham radio shack (I am WI5O).  As I drove down Business I-35 towards San Antonio through New Braunfels, I came up on a stoplight.  About twenty cars were stopped. 

Then, the light turned green.  And as it would be, about every car floored the gas pedals and sped away.  In front of me, I saw an impending tragedy.  A brown Chihuahua in the four lane busy street, trying to make his way to safety on the other side of the road.  He was scared and runing hard.

A woman in a white SUV sped up and held her lane and hit the little Chihuahua.  It was awful.  I was about three cars behind and had to witness this.  Being a Chihuahua lover, it really hurt to watch the little Chihuahua fold up.  I immediately looked for a place to pull off and see if I can rescue the little fellow. 

Now this is where I need to vent.  Please stick with me.  What in the hell is happening to people in America?  No one would stop and give four of us the chance to get that little dog out of the road!  It was a road with a speed limit of 30 MPH, but everyone was driving around 50 MPH.  Some arrogant people even honked us out of the way and finally, one driver had so much ignorance that she ran over the Chihuahua a second time and that just wasted me and three ladies and kids that were also trying to help that Chihuahua.  That killed the Chihuahua. 

No one seems to care about living creatures these days.  I wonder how they would have felt if they were the ones lying in that street? I have now doubt that the idiots would have ran over me had I walked in the street.  You see, "Green Means Go".  No matter what to humans.  They don't care who or what they run over to get to their next bargain.

We eventually got a red light to move the little Chihuahua out of the road.  What a beautiful little Chihuahua he had been at one time.  He is at the Rainbow Bridge, waiting for his master someday.  He will not have to worry about these people with rudeness and haphazard manners over the bridge. 

People, slow down when you drive, be careful, courteous, and remember that bargain will be there when you finally get there.  Little pets like that Chihuahua are color blind.  "Green Means Go" just as much to the Chihuahua as it does to a human.  Now go figure - who has more intelligence to decide what to do?  Chihuahua or human?

That was very sad to watch as the Little Chihuahua ran head on into the left front tire of that car and fold up instantly.  Worse, I didn't get a chance to pick him up and try to get him to a vet because some ignorant human decided that he had not been run over enough and did it again.  Oh yeah, I could not forget, the lady that hit the little Chihuahua the second time was wearing a mobile phone upon her ear.

I hope the little Chihuahua has green pastures over the bridge.
