Bad idea. Too big. A dog will not mess in it's "den". But if the area is big enough, it will simply designate one portion to be it's bathroom area and another portion to be it's sleeping area...thus you never get the dog housebroken. You need a small area that is big enough for the dog to lay comfortably, turn around, stand, ect., but not big enough for it to divide into areas. The playpen may be ok once it is older and housebroken, but not at this age. Also, they do prefer the small areas that a crate or carrier provides...it gives them a sense of safety. Marsha
