I wouldn't use baby bath on a chi puppy...may an older one, but not a puppy. As a general rule, chis should not be bathed more than twice a year as a routine and otherwise only when absolutely necessary. Chi coats excrete an oil that protects their naturally dry skin. Bathing gets rid of these oils. I have noticed, however, with my chis, that they love to find the filthiest, dirtiest stuff they can and just ROLL in it. When they do, naturally I have to bathe them. Otherwise, a pet wipe (they look a lot like baby wipes but are specially made for pets) can be used for routine cleaning, but reserve full baths for twice a year routines and as absolutely needed. It is much better for their skin. What about if they have allergies? Chance has allergies or so the vet says. He bites his self real bad. The vet keeps giving him pills but they only help while he's taking them. As soon as he stops taking them he starts itching again. I don't think their good for him, but he's misserable. I though baths might help. Betty
