Yolanda, I don't want to scare you but your dog may be in pain. I've had animals that become "grouchy" and I know it was because they weren't feeling well. (both of mine were cancer cases)
You might want to talk to your vet and have a few tests run. Does he growl when you touch a certain place on his belly?
