The vet that was there in the middle of the night went home this
morning but she called and left a message. They were going to try to
get him to eat something as she said he had pepped up with the
dextrose a lot and was not enjoying the blood tests they were doing.
Someone told me to ask for a bile acids test and they said they don't
have those to perform there so I suppose that would be something to
ask his regular vet about.

I called after the emergency vet had left a message as I had passed
out by then and the receptionist said that particular vet's shift was
over and she would be back this evening when she would re-evaluate
Sparky to see if he could go home or if he was still not eating and
having episodes of throwing up. She said they would have medication
to give him so maybe that's Nutracal? I will ask them about that and
also the A/D stuff. She said they would experiment and try to find a
food he would eat if he will eat. She said if his tummy is upset he
might not want to eat because he knows he'll throw up. I don't know
that they've done any x-rays but I'll ask that too, especially if
they have no explanation for his problem by tonight. They told us we
could come visit if we wanted this afternoon but I'm afraid that
might upset him more if we come and hold him for a few cuddles and
then he has to go back to a cage and we leave him again.
