You need to find holistic vets. Vets do not go to vet school to study nutrition that is why they offer Science Diet at their offices. One of the worse dog foods on the market plus the get a pretty good size commission. Raw feeding is one of the most natural ways to feed. Do you think they hunted Iams in the wild? just because they are domesticated does not make them any less of an animal. do we feed our lions and snakes Lion and snake kibble? NO we feed them what they would get in the wild, now why do we insist on doing our dogs differently? They eat what we give them because they have no choice. If you stick raw meat down on the ground and your dogs current
favorite food and lets see what they choose. How many times do you take your dog to the vet to be put under dangerous anesthetic to get its teeth cleaned from tarter build up? Where on earth does that tarter come from? Do you think Kibble cleans the teeth? Do cookies clean ours? lol With the natural diet there is no need for teeth cleaning.
Study the dogs immune system and find out that ecoli and semolina breaks down in dogs differently. to say a dog is just like us is just plan uneducated. We are no more like dogs as we are bears, cats, birds. We all have our own way of processing foods differently. I sure would not eat dog food either. And why so much corn in the dog food? Ever have a real bad shedding dog? ever have a scratching dry skin dog? allergies
to grains. Real common.
Study away! and buy a few holistic books as well, some state grains and what each one does for our dog but most BARF freeders do not use grains. The only time a dog gets grains is in the stomach of its prey. So grains, fruits and Veggies are really not necessary but some offer it. Good luck with the studies, also type in "dog food processing plants" in your search engine read some of those articles :-( nasty.

made dog food is great. Commercial dog foods didn't even get popular
until the 60's, before that everyone cooked for their dogs.
