A GSD is a German Shepherd.  We rescued him when he was 1 1/2 yrs old.  He was being starved to death by his owner who was planning on having him put down because he was her ex-boyfriend's dog.  We had a good couple of years with him.  He was an amazingly good dog.  We had no idea he was sick until we went on vacation last December.  When we came home we found out that he had not eaten the entire week we were gone.  Also when he came home he didn't bark.  I took him to the Vet and we started doing tests on him.   Two weeks later we had the cancer diagnosis.
Once we knew he was sick he didn't try to hide it anymore.  He just looked at us with those big sad looking brown eyes.  We knew what needed to be done.  : (

O Wow that is really young. I hate that for u. What is GSD?  Ruth (my dog) was full grown when someone dropped her off near our house, and she adopted us. We had her for 10 years, so she must have been 11-12 years old at least. She was still in great health, till this tumor all of a sudden appeared. Even with the tumors she was still eating and drinking and wagging her tail and acting like nothing was wrong with her. I just couldn't make her wait till she was in pain to do what I knew had to be done.
