welcome Sandy, I am Marsha in KY and I am owned by 5 chis, a litter of 4 chi pups and a whole zoo of other pets! I look forward to getting to know you!   Dogs in general are considered adults at the age of 1 year. However, the actual age of which a dog's personality, so to speak, changes from that puppy one to the mature adult one, varies by breed. Larger breeds tend to physically mature slower and mentally mature faster while smaller breeds tend to do just the opposite. A large breed may continue to grow for up to a year and a half, while a chi is probably as big as it is gonna get by the time it is a year old.
