Allergic reactions to rabies shots are no joke. A dog can easily go into anaphylactic shock and die from this reaction. I personally know a tough-as-nails pitbull, 6 years old always healthy 65 pounds of muscle, dead an hour after his rabies shot. The owner never forgave himself.
I won't go into the stupid over-vaccination that goes on in this country. Do a Google search to read about this issue, even veterenary schools are coming to admit how unneeded and dangerous this is. I never vaccinate my chihuahuas for rabies. When I travel with them (usually try to avoid doing so), I FAKE the paperwork. Guess I am a criminal. Just like the criminals that helped the slaves get north is how I see it. By the way, I'm not an anti-vaccine nut. If I had a farm dog that got into stuff with foxes and coons in an area where those populations had rabies, I'd vaccinate and then titer that hound. But not a chihuahua. Makes no sense. Or any urban dog, generally. --- In [email protected], "deb51j" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Hi > > I have a four year old chi that I have vaccinated regularly.
