Thanks, Marsha! I wondered about using human nail clippers.
So...do you use toe nail type clippers or just the regular
fingernail size clippers? The vet did them for us today, so how
often should I be doing them?

Nina got the last of her puppy shots today and her rabies shot. So
far no reaction to either....well unless you count the fuss she
raised when she got the last shot.....lol She's 3 months old now,
and weighed 3.8 pounds. The vet says he doesn't expect her to go
over six pounds full grown...if that. In around 3 months I'll
probably take her back to be spayed. Then next May we'll start
searching to see if we can find a Chi to "rescue". If not, I'll
contact the breeder I got Nina from to see if she's recuperated from
her surgeries and back to breeding. She did let me have Nina sooner
than most of you recommend (Nina was 7 weeks old) but I believe if I
told her she should really start keeping them a bit longer she would
do so. She's a very sweet "elderly" lady, but she takes very good
care of the pups while she has them.....making sure they get their
shots, worming them, and so on. The only thing that got me was she
thought Nina was ugly and didn't think anyone would ever buy her.
(She sold her to me for $100, and she is registered CKC.)
Anyway...I'm rambling....sorry.....lol
