When I took him to the "garden-center" to buy him a coat, I put him in the shopping carriage on a blanket, not in the part where you are supposed to put your toddlers. Still got a remark about it. It was "dirty" to put a dog in... where you can put your even muddy plants etc. So I overheared it and didn't react. Service dogs are the exception as long as they wear their special coats to show that they are SD, but I know that in some hospitals it is not allowed too. They offer the service of a staffmember for the patient, who is "dependent" again. Elaine, my Chi pees at trees and lampposts, but sometimes normally standing. I wonder if he wets his frontlegs that way... can't control it when he is walking through the wet grass. :-))) Sorry you lost your Chi. I can imagine that the girl Chi is missing her companion. Anna, I adopted Max a month ago. He is 18 months now. He is coming from a shelter in Malaga/Spain. I don't know what his life was before he came here. A Chi could be very shy and only friendly to the family, but Max is very kind to everybody. My grandchildren can play with him and he loves it. They are 7 and 5. He is interested in other dogs in a kind way. He doesn't challenge them. He is not a barker too, I hardly ever hear him. I have no garden in front of my house, so people are walking on the street, passing the window. He doesn't react to it. He loves to play inside. I didn't take his ball outside yet, because I cannot let him walk free. It isn't allowed, but some owners do and don't have problems. I am afraid Max would run away, although he didn't when the postman rang yesterday and he went out the frontdoor. Furdion, Max does sometimes lick my hands, I don't like him to lick my face. My son in law is very fond of Max and Max licks his ears too. Martin starts to tease him and then they are playing and fooling around a lot. Here you see Max and our cats Gizmo and Minous. Minoes is the one with the white face. She is a very shy animal and doesn't like Max yet. So she stays upstairs for most of the time. We got her food and a litterbox in the bathroom and also food and water. It is a pity, but she also used to go upstairs when the grandchildren came. It will take some time before she will get used to Max. For Gizmo it is no longer a problem. He loves dogfood, it is more salty then catfood, but less nutricious. So he cannot eat just dogfood.
