Oh that is so cute.

My husband is not big on clothes for dogs. We have always had large dogs in the
past and when we lived where it very, very cold I would put on of my husbands
old short sleeve sweat shirts on them. Hubby could live with that. When we got
our new Chi, Roul, I told hubby that we had to get him a coat because he was so
little and had no under coat fur like the big dogs had. Hubby said OK, he
understood the dog needed to be warm, but don "silly outfits". We shall see how
long that lasts <g>.

Do the dogs wear the little hoods, or are they just in the way, but look cute?

Looks cute, but in Holland you don't see many dogs with coats on. And
certainly not sweaters or anything like that.

I'm happy about that. Now it is not a problem if I make funny mistakes.
English is not my native tongue and I might make mistakes, without even
recognize them when I read my mail again.

LOL, I make silly mistakes in emails all the time, sometimes with very
embarrassing results!

I know I have dog coat patterns from either Butterick or Simplicity.
You can buy them at any sexing/fabric store. My little chis have several coats
each. -- em :)

        Hello,

Iam a new Chi mom. My new baby is named Roul, he is 4.5 lbs, 10
months old, and a little pistol.

We live in the high desert of the American southwest. In the winter
it can get quite cold in the morning - yesterday it was 18F,with a
64 F afternoon. Roul has a little sweater that the breeder gave me,
but he is growing out of it, and he hates the whole over the head
thing. My sister is sending him a lovely faux swade coat with a faux
lamb lining, but I wou ld like to make him some coats of different
weights to wear at the wide range of temps we have around here. Do
any of you know where I can purchase a pattern?

Also he loves to ride, but I don't think riding in my lap is a good
idea (if that air bag ever inflated it would not be pretty. I want
to get him a car seat where he can be restrained (safe) and still
see out the window. Can anyone recomend one?

        Thanks so much
        Barbara L, and Roul
