Hey - several years ago, I rescued a dog that sounds similar to yours. My vet
told me to feed her "Cozy Kitten" canned cat food for the first few days. My
contact with the Atlanta, GA, chi rescue confirmed that this was a common
suggestion. There is something in the food that gets them to eat when nothing
else can. Prepare yourself, though, it is nasty to look at! It is very cheap
and can be found in the grocery store. I wouldn't feed it more than a few days
because it isn't a good regular diet for a chi. I mashed it up with a fork and
my Molly (who only had 4 teeth) gobbled it up.

Good luck and God Bless for opening your home to a baby in need.
