I cook 10 lbs of chicken every other day, feed 5 lbs a night. It cooks on the
propane grill outside in a big pot so it doesn't use the 3 or 4 hours of
electricity inside, I add 1 cup rice to 3 cups water and put in microwave for
30 minutes, and mix in with the broth of cooked chicken, I pour out most of the
broth first, Also I add white potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots or any other
palatable thing I might have on hand to the chicken while it's cooking. I have
10 dogs, females, and 2 males, not counting my neutered Papillon. And they
love it. They get that once a day at bedtime when they go out to the big
kennel and go to bed. When I lock the kennel door they are eating. The next
morning I let them out to run and play in the back yard (1/2 acre) privacy
fenced. Then the back door stays open all day all year round and they run in
and out all day and play and most use the bathroom outside. The little ones
use the paper if they are too small to go outside.

I agree, I'm concerned too because the dry food has wheat gulten too. If
that was even the cause of the problem. The last I heard they suspected the
wheat gluten but were not sure. I checked the ingredients on my dogs O'Roy,
jerky treats and they have wheat gluten too. So I bought a different treat
without it. My vet said today to make rice with boiled chicken, so I will try
that tomorrow. Today I made rice, made a gravy useing canned beef broth and
thickened with flour, scrambeled 2 eggs with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, and
mixed it all together with about 1/4 lb of cooked hamburg. It made enough for
today and tomorrow morning. My very picky, old cat was eating it out of the pan
while I was trying to dish it up for all of them. They all scrafed it right
down. I hate making such a drastic change in their food all at once but at
least I know what is in this food. My daughter suggested mixing canned people
stew with rice, but I'll have to check the lable for onion
powder. I'm going to try making some with rice and tuna also, since they all
love tuna.

I just hear on Fox news that a lady in Chicago, whose cat died, is filing a
law suit against Menu Foods. I thought I was safe with useing my Mighty Dog
food because it was not on the list sat. morn. Then I heard a report on TV that
said there was more brands than what I had seen on the list, so I checked the
list again and Mighty Dog pouches was on the list. I use cans, but I'm not so
sure that they r safe either. Will they be adding more to the list? I'm with u,
I think people food is the only safe way to go for now. They'll probably be so
spoiled by real food we won't be able to get them eating dog food again.
