that playing with their poop or eating it is their way of playing around, like
in a bad way obviously. I have no idea what to do to break it, I can't imagine
what I'd do if my Chaz did it.

As for running, Chaz did the same thing for awhile, and we're at the end of two
busy streets and when he gets "in the mood" he runs, and I'm always worried
about him getting hit, so I put my foot down; I don't mean I beat him or
anything - but he went from running out the door with me, to staying when I
said stay, so really it's a matter of how you treat him when he's done
something wrong, so if you discipline him, and then cuddle with him afterwards
he's going to think it's okay - that it's how he gets positive attention. It's
hard I know, I take one look at Chaz's cute little face and I crush, but I know
it's for his wellbeing and if I don't take the alpha spot he'll make a fool out
of me, and it could very well cost him his life.

I'd suggest a harness, I'm not sure what the level of wearing it is, but maybe
if you break him into having restraint he won't be so quick to run off. Maybe
break it in and have it on him for a couple hours a day and gradually break it
down.

There is nothing more dreadful than the habit of doubt. Doubt
separates people. It is a poison that disintegrates friendships and breaks up
pleasant relations. It is a thorn that irritates and hurts; it is a sword that
kills. - Buddha

The simplest way to correct eating his poopy is to clean it up right after
he makes his deposits. I think there is a supplement you can give him that
will help stop that behavior, but I do not know what it is… good luck ! – em J

My 5.5 month old chi is picking up some very bad habits. One being, as
soon as our outside door opens, he darts out and runs across the
street to grandma and grandpas! His brother lives there with them and
he loves to go visit, however, even though our road isn't a very busy
one, there is always the chance of him getting hurt. How do I correct
this? I have thought about putting him in a plastic carrier with no
comforts as a time out but am not sure if it will cause more bad
behaviors.

Also, he likes to eat poopies. YUCK! I feed him pedigree, and he is
well fed, so I cant imagine why he would eat that. Should I change his
food? My friend suggested evo something or another and also suggested
feeding him a raw diet, not sure about how safe that is.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I love my dog smoochies, but it
makes lovin gross!!!!

Thanks,
Lori
