Since it is an ongoing problem, I would have it checked. The lump could be a
little infection. The hair loss could be where the skin has died at the injury
point. It could also be something like ear mites. If there are no open wounds,
then for now, I would wash it real good, put something on it like maybe a mange
medicine or ear mite medication (something that kills living organisms) and
keep an eye on it till the vet reopens on Monday, then make an appointment for
a check up. I agree it doesn't sound emergency, but it is still something that
needs to be checked out. Also, probably wouldn't hurt to take his temp and see
if he is running a temp. If he is, then it is likely infection and that would
be an emergency situation.

Subject: [Chihuahuas] Wha is going on with my ears?

Hello, I wanted to ask you because you guys have experience with
Chihuahuas. It began 2 weeks ago when I noticed Cocoa´s inside of the
ear to have a little scar, I thought she had a bite fight with her
sister. I removed the dry skin and forgot about it. Then 1 week ago I
noticed more scars and the skin just came off with a bit of hair,
remember, is in the inside of the ear. Now, today I was petting her
and checking her ears... and I discover a lump on her ear, and as I
softly rub it, a piece of hair falls off like a thin carpet. No pain,
she didnt even noticed . I looked and her other ear has a bald spot
too, the size of a small bean. lam keeping the skin and hair to send
it analyze with a friend who is a human dermatologist since the vets
office will be closed for the holidays. I know is not a vet emergency
but would love to know what to do until monday when I visit the doggy
  clinic. Thanrks for you advice.
