Hooper was easy to potty training he will go out side to go or he will use his pads I dont pick up there wood or water its down all day

I take them for a walk every night when I get home from work and I keep their food in the kitchen all day/night. Despite the walks, they go to the bathroom at various times in my house. I'm trying to prevent this. I'm assuming I need to leave their food/water out at certain times in accordance witht their walks. Does anyone have a strict schedule they adhere to when potty training their dogs?
