This little Yorkie was born 6/1/05 and was a happy healthy Fur-baby....

He was enjoying his fur-moms lap and jumped down, shortly after he could not
walk. Mom rushed him to their Vet. and he was gave some medication and bed
rest. Mom was worried because he had not made any improvements.
She returned several times to her Vet and then was referred to DVM Georgina
Barone

There concerns being Tahoe may have Atlantoaxial Instability or spinal cord
injury.

Dr. Georgina Barone is a Neurosurgeon at a specialist center in Long Island
NY.
She is board certified in neurosurgery. Dr Barone advised Kasia (fur-mom)
that he
has to have a MRI to find the extent of Tahoe's injuries.
In addition indicting there was a very good chance he would need surgery.
Kasia was told she would need 1,900.00 dollars at the next visit.
She has spent over 1,000.00 to this date between her referring Vet and this
specialist.
She just doesn't have the funds at this time for the much needed MRI.
With being turned down for Care Credit as her last hope for funding.
Kasia has some possible organizations that may be able to help her once she
has
confirmed diagnoses for Tahoe. With out the diagnoses she is at a stand
still.

We list Mom's on congenital group contacted the hospital and have
made arrangements for them to take donations in Tahoe's behalf.
They have told us that Tahoe is classified in serious condition and this
MRI is needed right away.

Tahoe has made some minor improving being he can lift his head up but
still can not walk. With spinal cord compression or injury everyday is
critical the longer the less odds are in repairing. In addition to
respiratory
failure if the trauma to spinal cord is as they expect.

The hospital has agreed to take 1,500.00 for the MRI.
With getting him the care needed as timely as possible can make all the
difference in the world. Most important saving him from death do to
respiratory failure from the spinal compression, and the timely repair making
the difference if he will walk again.

I think if some Fur-friends could help this mom with MRI it could make
all the difference.. even small donations will help.

You are more than welcomed to contact Nell, Val or Melissa if you have any
questions.
