This is reassuring, as that is the route I plan to go, will just bypass the litter pellets and go straight for the newspaper or potty pad and put it in the litter box. Thanks for the info.
Deb As I mentioned in a previous post, Cesar used his pad immediately. Then, I read an article about using a litter box. Since the pads had a tendency to soak through, I decided the box would be the answer. When I first put it out, Cesar was delighted, "what wonderful toys or is it food?", he tossed the pellets around and then started eating them. So, I put a pad over them. He would step into the box but would back out when he heard the crunching noise the pellets made and would poop on the outside by the box. So, I threw away the litter/pellets and started using newspaper. It works fine, unless Cesar decides to pull it out and shred it up! We're working on it and he's getting better about leaving it alone and using the box lined with newspaper. Gloria As I mentioned in a previous post, Cesar used his pad immediately.
