My experience with Chis is that the following questions are not really related to whether or not they are male/female, but more to the individual dog. It's hard to know what they are like when they are puppies. I remember I was so excited when Pablo first let out a bark, now I wish he never learned!!! - em, Pita & Pablo :-)
_____ From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Linda Ambrose Sent: Saturday, June 09, 2007 1:54 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Chihuahuas] Differences in males vs. females Hi Group: As I mentioned in my introduction to the list, my husband and I are hoping to add a chihuahua to our family sometime in the future. A few questions for you seasoned owners. In your opinion and from your own experience, can you comment on gender in regard to: 1) toilet-training ... who is easier to train ... male/female? Usually a male dog will lift his leg to urinate. Is this common with small male dogs like chihuahuas? I heard that neutered males will squat like females. Is this true? 2) temperament ... who is more docile and easy going, more affectionate ... male/female? 3) barking ... who is a more consistent barker ... male/female? 4) getting along with other pets such as cats ... who is likely to adapt easier ... male/female? I'm looking forward to your comments and feedback and thank you in advance for taking the time to answer. Linda
