You might try using potty pads and putting her on the
potty pads when she comes in to go.  
Then at least if she's not wanting to do it in the
yard, you could use those then move them to a box and
use a box. Just keep putting her on the pads when she
has to go or you see her going.  That is what I use. 
Mine learned quick.  Although, I started her on the
potty pads in the box but she was young enough to have
not used anything else.
