Thank You Denise Your very kind. I can sympathize. When I lost little Man I was pregnant so if you can imagine a pregnant women sitting on the side walk crying. I'm sure my Neighbors would agree I wasn't a pretty site. We love our babies weather they have 2 or 4 legs. ~Carol -------Original Message------- From: Denise Date: 9/10/2007 2:03:46 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Chihuahuas] Re: I lost my chi today to being hit by a car, anyone ever had that happen? Your stories are just so sad, I read them at work and have to leave my desk (which is right out at the front entrance and in clear view of my bosses offices) and hide in the file room to wipe my tears. My little Peanuts used to think the proper place to "poop" was across the streat in the neighbor's yard. It took months to teach him to stay in our yard, every time he took off across the side yard to the side opening in the fence (we're on a corner lot with a second driveway over there) I would scream and take off running after him (picture a 50 year old, 200 pound woman running - not a pretty sight) because I was so scared he'd be hit.
I always stay outside with my dogs when they go to the bathroom and now when he gives me a certain look and starts running across the yard I yell "PEANUT, NO, LEAVE IT" and he runs in a big circle back to the house because he knows he's been caught. Don't ask me why "Leave it Works" when "Come" doesn't, but I'll take what I can get. Anyway, after reading all these posts I'm more determined than ever to find the money to gate that opening in the fence so my poor babys will be safer. My thoughts and prayers are with each of you as you go through the greaving process, I know it takes some time but if you are like me you will eventually let a new animal into your heart and home.
