Thanks for the tip. Don't think a real carseat for dogs is available
here.
I do have some sort of square tub that I can put blankets in while he
is in there. It's not high enough for him to jump over -- which is
better because I don't want him feeling walled in. I got a small
traveler bag for him that's lined with wires on the sides but still,
he cries like he's trapped. I know he can be trained but he got so
stressed inside that he started to pee. :o(
So maybe I can consider using the square tub and find a way to attach
it to the seatbelt. Harnessing is a good tip -- that's more pressure
for me to really train him for that. He bites the leash all the time
and sits while biting it. He doesn't walk! Help!

I stick his (heated it has a cigarette lighter adapter) bed on a

carseats that you can attach to the seat of your car but whether
you buy one or rig one ALWAYS harness your baby in. I have his
harness on and tie his leash to the headrest with a bit of
breathing room but still tethered.
I had Henry in the back when I was heading up to a friends cabin
with her. We stopped short and he went flying forward. Luckily I
caught him in mid air but it could have been a disaster.
Also we live in a pretty safe place but a few months ago someone
had their two malteses stolen out of their car when they went in
for groceries. So even if your cracking the window or sunroof lock
it up if your baby is left in the car, even for just a minute.

I'd be interested to find out, too. I do the same but the travel
is usually just about 5 minutes. Just the same, I know it's not
safe especially when he gets a bit bigger. Although, right now, he
just lays on my leg.
I bought him a small traveling cage -- it's a hard plastic with
holes for ventilation. He would cry like he's being punished! So
I moved it in front so that he could see me instead of putting him
in the back.
But when I moved him in front, he was barking and angry because he
could see me and was wondering why I am keeping him locked up!

Hello group...I'm new. I'm Ed...the Chi is Rita. Almost 2.
What is the best kind of car set up that is safe for the Chi? Mine
loves to sit on my lap and drive, but I know it's not safe and the
police may not like it while driving.
She hated the car seat I purchased. How can I keep her close,
able to
see, and safer?
Crazy about this dog.
