Given that most, if not all Chihuahuas in North America are related, chances are, in a registered sire she will find a few Champions here and there. While many good pups do come from parents who have not shown, they will have come from lines WITH champions in them. Lexi's dam and sire are both pointed, never finished but she has quite a few champions in her pedigree. Patches' parents were never shown but also come from champion lines. There is a reason to breed dogs who have solid champions in their background because it is an indication of the soundness of the genetics in those dogs. IMO people who are breeding should be showing as well, in order to find and pair off the best specimens in an overall effort to improve the breed. --- In [email protected], "marsha" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > She didn't say she didn't want good bloodlines...she said she didn't care if the dog had a champion background......many good pups have come from dogs that have never seen the ring.
