Such a generic term, since what "betters the breed" is often in the eyes of the select few. So I breed Chihuahuas to bring out the trait that I like in the Chihuahua. I have a rescue that is a chi/jrt mix. He was suppose to have been a temporary foster, but my son fell in love with him and we kept him. If you want a "designer" dog there are more then enough of them at the local shelters, rescue groups, etc. Eveyday mix breed dogs are being put down... does there really need to be another reason to have more and more dogs being turned over to these shelters. I just don't understand what happen to the "love of a breed"? Personal, as many of you know, I am a Chihuahua lover. I believe they are a wonderful breed and do not need any changes. Do people really need to charge 400-700 for a Chiweenies? Chipoo? Chi-Chon? As you can tell this really upsets me... not just because I have a love for Chihuahuas but also because there are enough dogs out there that need homes without people breeding more and more. I just want to say.. I am not writing this to upset anyone, so please do not take it that way.. I would never want to start anything that woudl cause issues or tension amoung our wonderful group.
