Our dog had demodex and we tried everything but the only thing that got rid of it was the Ivomec. She was on it for probably a little over two months with the vet doing skin scrapings until there were no more mites plus one more scraping after none were found. Then the Ivomec was gradually decreased. She just had her last dose of Ivomec on Saturday . Ivomec helps kill the mite from the inside as they are very deep in the hair follicles and would be difficult to treat with topical remedies. Good luck to your friend. Please tell her to follow her vet's instructions if he will be doing skin scrapings to make sure the mites are dying otherwise find a vet that will.
