If you are not going to show or breed, then there is no reason that you need to register Princess unless you just want to. There is no cut off age for spaying, but I would do it while younger to reduce the chance of mammary cancer. Pam

Princess is almost 3 years old and I've had since she was 6 months. I grew up with a chi but since I was a kid I didn't have to worry about the techncal and medical stuff so this is my first time being the sole provider for a chi. I have a couple of questions I'm hoping someone can answer for me. First of all, is there an age cut off to getting her spayed? I considered breeding but since I have never done it before and I don't want anything to happed to Princess I decided against it. Also, if she is not going into competition is it good to register her anyways? I have had the papers since I got her and just never did anything with it. Is it necessary?
