Don't know if it's common. I've 1 chi cross and 2 purebread. No seizures.

Daisy doesn't watch tv but Angel will bark at anything with 4 legs that
moves. She's a real hoot!

Subject: [Chihuahuas] Re: hey fellow chihuahua parents i have a question

Wow Stefanie...we just experienced the same thing with Luna - seizures? she
has had 2 on different occasions where her body was ridgid, eyes fixed - but
only lasted about 20 seconds. Common with this breed?? We have only 3+
years experience with Chihuahuas...
We mostly have had large breed dogs, since I train in Obedience Compitition
- we fell madly in love with these "little ones" we had to have 5!!! 2
belongs to Emmy my 22 year old who couldn't take them because when Turbo
would see any dog or cat on TV he would bark - so she left the radio on for
them, but then when he heard a siren he would howl - so management warned
her. She is moving out asap to have her babies back - said, "I can't live
without them"!!
Can anyone give me more info on seizures?? Thanks a bunch!!

they never last longer than a minute or two at the most. And afterward, she
is very out of it and takes a long time to recover. When she has seizures,
her whole body goes rigid, her eyes and mouth open and she salivates. It's
very obvious that she is seizing.

heavily, they sometimes move their legs as if they are "running". They also
make little noises sometimes. They are sometime hard to awaken, too. You
might want to check with your vet just in case, though. But I really wouldn
t worry about it.
