Vets don't get commission selling science diet. I worked for several vet clinics over the course of 8 years....we received ZERO dollars. We prescribed it for animals who had specific problems. I would use it in a heartbeat. I watched many animals with heart disease, kidney disease, blocked urinary bladders all thrive once put on the appropriate diet. We used it because it worked. As I say with all food though is this, if your pet is doing fine and is happy and healthy with what they are eating don't change it. I think people like to cut Science Diet because of the price and because many people are "anti-vet". I see that same attitude in the horse world as well. Vets aren't just out to make money, but hello, they do have to make a living and they do have to pay for the education and they can't just give everything away for free. It can be a thankless job in many ways. I appreciate the advice given to me by my vets. If I didn't believe in them I wouldn't go to them....sorry for the rant..
