Well, I told them that I could not ship him right now. I think it is too hot at 100+ degrees here and it is hot even in the morning. I checked into it and it could be up to a 12 hr flight and that is just too much for a little puppy. He will be 12 wks in 3 days, but he is still too small for that kind of stress. I told her that if she was really wanting him she could fly down and they would allow her to fly him back in the cabin with her, but I don't think that she will go for that. Oh well my baby's health is the most important thing.

Well with the Pet Safe program Continental offers the trolleys for lack of a better description are air conditioned to transport to and from the airplane but I am unsure what Alaska Air has in place. It was early Spring when my puppy shipped and it was a Beagle baby.

I think shipping Chi puppy that far is very dangerous, especially in this heat - the tarmac is not climate controlled On Sun, Jul 20, 2008 at 12:54 PM, Christy Sylvest <[EMAIL PROTECTED] com> wrote: I have a person who would like me to ship a puppy to alaska. I have never shipped before and would like some advise from those of you who have shipped a good distance. What airline is best? I have heard Delta but not sure...How much would you charge if I have to drive 1 hr to the airport and 1hr back? I would be shipping from Texas so it would have to be a very early flight. Any other advise or suggestions would be great thanks. "Whether or not it is clear to you, the world is unfolding as it should." -Desiderata
