Not sure if 2 years is the exact time, but it does take awhile for a long
coat chi to get her full coat in.  The pup has a puppy coat but then she'll
go into a stage some call "the uglies" where the bulk of the coat comes out
and you have a pup that may not so much look like a long coat anymore.
However, after awhile she'll start getting in her adult coat in and will
look more like a long coat chi.
