I took Mare's advice and glued the nail so it didn't flex. I cut it really
short (without making him bleed) and he seems to be okay. He licked it a
little bit, but now seems to be ignoring more. I will keep and eye on him.
It cracked all the way up, there was not way I would cut it there. Thanks
for all the advice and well wishes! - em :-)

Em,

How is his claw doing?? Kiko broke her claw and was in pain. We called the
vet (It was late at night) Tim did not want to help me cut it off as they
suggested. She fell asleep for the night and when she woke up it was off.

Hope that Pablo is doing ok. Diana

Subject: [ Chihuahuas ] Dew Claw Question

My Pablo broke his dew claw. It is cracked sideways and he cries when I
touch it. Should I just finish cutting it off (it is far up on the nail) or
just leave it alone? He keeps running away from me and hiding. Should I
wrap it up? I am sure it hurts, but it is not bleeding right now. Any
advice would be appreciated. Thanks! - em :-)
