Well hopefully my experience will help others not go through what I did. Had I known, I would have taken precautions. I now keep mine crated when I am not home so they are safe when I can not watch them :-) -- em

Kiko has long legs and jumps all over the place. I have thought of her breaking a leg but not about all the other things that you mentioned. She would jump on and off the couch, she ended up blowing out two discs and ended up paralyzed. Luckily, I was able to afford her surgery and now she walks again but is wobbly and has bladder control problems :-( Her back was prone to injury , her discs were already calcifying (she was only 2). My vet suggested putting large pillows on the floor where they like to jump off to absorb some of the shock. The closest I've come is the vet told me Jaelyn's knees were slipping out of place?
