Not all apple heads have the shorter bodies though.. Tia is an apple head
and she has a longer body with long legs.. She is certainly unique
especially with her 1/2 lc .. Lol.. She has a neck ruff and pants in the
front but not ear tufts and her fur in the back while not being as short as
short coat is definitely shorter than a long coat. She also has lost most of
the hair on the front of her neck.. As never had much on her belly and knees
and elbows.. Lol

Also, the "apple-headed" Chis have a more pronounced stop as well as a
shorter nose than the "deer-headed" type. The AKC Chihuahua standard calls
for the "apple-headed" type but the "deer-headed" ones are just as much
Chihuahua as the "standard" ones are as far as personality! They are both
cute in their own ways. I, personally, prefer the "apple-headed" look in a
Chi with the shorter nose, big bulgy eyes and shorter, more "cobby" bodies.
Then again, some of the "deer-types" are adorable with their huge ears and
delicate features! So cute!

don't know how many replies you have gotten because I have been having
email probs, but.....
the standards do not make mention of deerheads or apple heads. BUT, the
standards do call for a well rounded dome and a short nose...so basically,
that is what we refer to as a applehead. Deerfaced chis are a term used to
describe chis with longer noses and more terrier like head shapes. It is
NOT an official term, just one in common use. While a applehead is
actually the one that meets standards, that does NOT mean that the
deerfaced ones are any less chi...just means that by standards they are
not considered "quality" but imo, to each his own......
