There was a staple in one of my fosters...the Vet was able to remove it but it was an ordeal. She didn't have to totally go under anesthia, but given a sedative and numbing of the area. She was fine with a very tiny incision. But the cost was almost $400+ Some of these shelters spay and neuter at 8 to 10 weeks of age. It's an assembly line for them sometimes rushing thru the process. Therefore being careless with their surgeries. You heard about some doctors leaving gauze and surgical instruments in people...happens to pets too... If it doesn't bother Toto..then just leave it. One of the screws is backing out of my long time broken ankle, doc says if it doesn't bother me...leave it. It is causing irritation. the vet said that some rescues and shelters use stainless steel stitches inside as it is cheaper for them in the long run because they can resteralize the stainless steel stitching material and that it would be another major operation to go in and remove them from toto. I said no way. It doesnt seem to bother her as much as it does me! Does anybody else have any other information on this type of thing?Take careEileen Roberts Find phone numbers fast with the New AOL Yellow Pages!
