I would say it really depends on your twins temperament? Are they grabby?
Pushy? Or Gentle?
I do NOT think a chi is a good pet for children that are super-active and
rough on things. Chi's have a delicate bone structure. Many rescues will not
place in a home with small children. But at 7, I think it really depends on
the children. Chi's love to play, but not all like children. I would
definitely look for a breeder that has children and has socialized the chi
to children.

Subject: [Chihuahuas] is a chihuahua right for my family?

Hello all. We currently have a large dog (50-60lbs) that we are going
to have to put down. We are trying to make the most informed decision
on the next dog we purchase. We have 7 year old twins.

We want a small dog with short hair that requires little outside
exercise and little grooming. It seems a chihuahua is perfect for us.

But, I am worried about the tempermant. Everything I read says that
they can be nippy with small children. How true is this? what
experience have you had?

Thanks in advance.
