IMO, they are NOT the best breed for kids. Kids tend to want to carry them around (and treat them like dolls) and that's dangerous for the dog. Also, I think most Chis are too defensive toward kids to completely trust them together. There might be some execptions but in general, Chis don't make good pets for kids. Stefanie
