I never knew there was a safer alternative to the heating pad. I tried hot water bottles but they got cold too quickly and he felt uncomfortable. I feel terrible that I wasnt using the safest alternative for him. I ordered one just now. Thank you so much. The only other options I could find were bed pads or heated cup beds that are too small for him. And the bed pads fit his bed but they smelled like scorched plastic! I returned that immediately. I try to be an informed pet parent but sometimes I get the wrong information. Everyone here seems so concerned and caring. Any concerns I have on care I will bring to you all. I really appreciate the help.

I am NOT criticizing the person who said she uses one for her dog who has arthritis!! I'm simply offering another alternative. I have used this SnuggleSafe Heater since I first got Katie. She loves it!!!! Every night at bedtime, I put it in the microwave for 7 1/2 minutes, wrap it in a soft blanket, and place it inside her bed. She runs inside her bed, lies down on it, and I swear she smiles at me!! LOL This heater is wonderful!! I never have to worry about any wires/cords getting chewed on because there are no wires/cords. The heat lasts all through the night - I've checked. Also, I don't have to worry about Katie wriggling out of any clothes she's wearing (and possibly getting hurt). With this heater, I can put her to bed 'naked' and know she will still be warm, even on the coldest nights.
