You are not breaking their spirits by setting boundaries...nor will
correcting inapproriate behavior cause her to be a "zombie" dog.....

True, but do it the wrong way and the dog will suffer IMO. Sample, I have
a friend with a Yorkie that thinks a rolled up paper is a good way to
discipline a dog. Her dog has become a fear biter. Bites her every chance
she gets. You go dog!
