kennel cough does take a bit to get over, it is more of a honking type cough, when yuo press on their trachea they usually cough ( if they have kennel cough) antibio's wont help get rid of kennel cough, but will help it turn into pneuomnia ;-) if it is kennel cough it does need to run its course, it could be a cold also, one of my dogs is coughing quite a bit lately and havent been anyplace to pick up kennel cough .. so it might just be the change in weather , like how it makes us sick ;-)
