I call that a Chihuahua cough it does sound like they are having an asthma attack. When we first got palido that scared me to death and the vet said and what I read on the internet said it was normal for Chihuahuas. My chi's don't do it any more I found a way for them not to the only time they do it now is if I run out of what I give them to get rid of it or some foods do it which I found out last week end.

The vet put her on ten days antibiotics and she got a little better. The previous owner said it was kennel cough and it would run its course in 2 weeks. She is still coughing.
