You are right it does seem like so many things to remember. He is now on the precription food from the vet and thank goodness he likes it he was 22lbs and now he is 13 lbs so he has lost alot in just a few months. He has the short legs and is mostly black with some tan and white (I will put up some pictures when I learn how to do them) but everyone always said he looked like a pot bellied pig. Now he is on 2 shots a day and on meds to help make him eat, meds for his ears, and meds for his eye he has pressure on his eye. Thanks so much for offering help. He ws diagnosed when he was 7 and lived to be almost 16!! He was a great dog and I still miss him. He was extremely large, a malamute shepherd mix, but diabetes is diabetes. I gave him an injection every morning and had to monitor both his food intake and exercise level. Each day I tested his urine with ph paper. It seems overwhelming at the start, but you'll find that you get into a routine and it becomes like second nature!
