I am glad little Smidgen is doing fine. I express the pooches anal glans
myself.
It's really, really stinky...but they are more comfortable after it's done!

Hi, Beth! Both of my boys are tiny and I go to the vet every 4or 5 weeks to
have it done. Its far cheaper than an emergency and the vet always gives them
the "pnce over" and always catches things that might be brewing! For me, its
worth it!Elizabeth--- On Mon, 1/12/09, Beth Michl <[email protected]> wrote:

It is great news that she doesn't have what I thought she had.. It still cost
me almost $400.00 dollars, but knowing she is going to be okay is the best
news. I guess I will need to learn to express her glands from now on so this
doesn't happen.. Just going to be hard to do I think on both Smidgen and
Chassis cause they are so small. Smidge in just about 3 1/2 lbs, and Chassis is
2 1/2 lbs. Have you had to do this to Pixie ?

I am glad to hear this. I guess this is what my Pixie had too. Evelyn

Smidgen is going to be okay !! She doesn't have Perianal Fistula. She had a
infected anal gland. The vet lanced it and flushed it out and stiched her up.
She isn't very happy about having to wear the E-collar.Thank you everyone for
your prayers..Beth & Smidgen
