Ellen,
Abbey-rose is my registered service dog. I have terrible neuropathy and sleep
apnea - if my breathing becomes irregular - Abbey wakes me up. When my pain is
really bad, she kisses my tears, then licks my legs as that is where my pain
is. Just having her has helped me so much deal with my pain and depression that
comes with being in chronic pain. I take Abbey every where with me and people
can be so rude. The other day a man yelled at me and said. "what is a 3rd world
country" - then the same day a lady said laughing - oh how many lives has she
saved? People can be so mean and cruel. You never know when your life is going
to change as I went from having an important job making great money in health
care quality and then I got ill and everything changed. So just be prepared to
put up with a lot of ignorant and rude people. After working in health care my
whole life I have always understood illness and took so much time and love with
the patients I dealt
with as I thought you never know this could be me or my family - plus its my
nature to want to help and care for others. Your baby will make a huge
difference in your life. Now Maggie will be trained too. Best of luck and we
are so glad to have you. I am new too but already love this group, they all
know so much and I have learned many new things plus gotten unconditional
support from everyone here!

Nancy, I do love my vet she is so wonderful but I have had bad luck with
purbreeds so I usually have had mutts  in the past. But I wanted to have a
little one to go with me and train as my service dog for smells. I get real bad
migraines with certain smells and so far she is doing great and does really
learn fast ....I am so amazed with her! I think I will definitely wait until
she is full grown to see how big she will get then decide. Thank you all! Ellen
