Now you would think that this vet would tell exactly what he has....if it
is dog flu it is highly contagious and the kind thing to do, is not to take
him out publicly so other dogs don't get it.  Whatever it is, I sure hope he
gets over it real fast, and I am glad that you put him on the antibiotic.

Vets are just like doctors for the humans. A lot of illness is guesswork.
Those that have kids know the famous phrase It is a virus. Sometimes w/o
extensive expensive test it can be hard to tell.  If dog flu is anything
like human flu antibiotics won't help. They may clear up other unknown
infections but not the flu.
